The Lua is Mamas & Papas’ crib with a lowering side panel, removable bassinet and folding frame. This assessment uses the manufacturer’s documents; we have not assembled or slept a baby in it.
How Lua differs from an attached bedside crib
The manufacturer’s product page describes an auto-return side and says the crib does not need straps attaching it to the adult bed. Do not copy the open-side arrangement or attachment method of a different brand. Follow Lua’s own instructions for its side and bassinet position.
Use the right version of the instructions
The official instruction library provides a Lua booklet. The linked January 2024 V5 manual says to stop use when the child can sit, kneel or pull up. It warns against placing the detached crib body on an elevated surface and against adding a second mattress.
We found different mattress measurements in the linked booklet and a current product listing. For a replacement, give Mamas & Papas your serial or LOT number and ask it to confirm the exact mattress and manual. We do not resolve that discrepancy by choosing a convenient figure.
Sleep flat, regardless of incline marketing
The previous page described adjustable incline as an optimal sleeping position. We have removed that recommendation. NHS reflux guidance recommends babies sleep flat on their backs, without raising the cot head.
Practical buying questions
Check whether the pack includes the sheet, protector or changing accessory shown, and compare the folded frame with your storage space. If buying used, obtain the matching instructions and all original parts. We have not verified a current bundle offer, tested the auto-return mechanism or established a comparative value score.
