The name Next2Me covers several Chicco models. This page is about Dream; a guide or accessory labelled only “Next2Me” may cover something else. We have not tested or assembled the crib.
Identify the model before the accessory
A useful example is Chicco’s Evo and Essential replacement mattress page, which excludes Dream from its listed compatibility. Do not assume that a mattress advertised for the brand’s wider range will fit Dream. Give Chicco the complete product code when asking about replacement parts or instructions.
How the modes differ
Chicco’s Next2Me FAQ describes attachment straps for bedside mode and requires the front panel to be secured up in stand-alone mode. It also makes clear that the approximate age range is subject to a baby’s ability to sit, kneel or pull up. Follow the exact Dream instructions and stop-use limits.
Bed fit comes before convenience
Check mattress height, the shape of the adult bed frame, clearance for the feet and the specified strap route. A zipped panel or adjustable legs cannot resolve an incompatible bed. Request the manual before buying a used example, and compare its illustrated fittings with the items supplied.
Do not buy an incline for reflux
NHS reflux guidance recommends flat, back sleeping without raising the cot head.
Our previous star-score comparisons and assurances about easier nights are not supported by a Kids Beds UK test. A current offer should be checked against the exact Dream version before it is recommended.
